Maestros de audición y lenguaje: ¿por qué son fundamentales?
¡Buenas lectores y lectoras! ¿Cómo estáis llevando la semana? ¡Espero que vaya muy bien este inicio de curso! Espero y deseo que hayáis pasado una feliz semana, ahora nos toca descansar y disfrutar para volver con ilusión al comienzo de la semana.
Quiero continuar mis reflexiones educativas hablando de la importancia de los maestros de audición y lenguaje, maestros que son necesarios en el día a día de los centros educativos (sean ordinarios o especiales) y no muy valorados en nuestro sistema educativo.
Introducción
Hoy en día, todavía puede resultar desconocida para la comunidad educativa la figura de los maestros especialistas en audición y lenguaje. Estos profesionales son maestros con una formación especializada para atender al alumnado con dificultades relacionadas con la audición y lenguaje. Uno de sus objetivo es el de ofrecer una intervención educativa para detectar patologías en el desarrollo de las capacidades lingüísticas de tus alumnos.
Diferencia entre logopedas y maestros de audición y lenguaje
Mucha gente suele confundir la figura del logopeda con el maestro de audición y lenguaje. A continuación, te explico la diferencia entre ambos términos.
Un maestro de audición y lenguaje realiza intervención en audición, habla, lenguaje oral y escrito, así como dificultades de aprendizaje derivadas de trastornos del desarollo.
El desarrollo de habilidades lingüisticas, del pensamiento, sistemas alternativos de comunicación, neurología del lenguaje, evaluación o psicomotricidad son áreas de intervención del logopeda.
Los maestros de audición y lenguaje se centran más en el lenguaje y es un profesional de la educación. Los logopedas además del lenguaje, intervienen en más aspectos como la terapia miofuncional o en deglución atípica, ya que es una profesión sanitaria.
Hoy en día ambas profesiones son necesarias y complementarias porque la intervención es multidisciplinar en el ámbito escolar, dónde hay que tener en cuenta la diversidad del alumnado y sus necesidades específicas.
Los maestros de audición y lenguaje en los centros educativos
Es importante decir que los maestros de audición y lenguaje, son docentes que, formando parte de la plantilla de maestros del centro (con horario completo o itinerantes), bien prestan atención a ACNEES que asisten a aulas ordinarias o bien, además trabajan en Centros Específicos de Educación Especial (CEEE) o en Unidades de Educación Especial dentro de Centros Ordinarios.
¿Qué estudian los maestros de audición y lenguaje?
Hoy en día lo primero que hay que hacer es cursar el Grado de Magisterio de Educación Primaria con la mención de Audición y Lenguaje. Después deben especializarse en másteres de audición y lenguaje que merezcan la pena por sus contenidos, metodología, evaluación y prácticas.
La función de estos profesionales de la educación
Las funciones de los maestros de audición y lenguaje, como especialistas, en un centro ordinario, son las siguientes:

Realizar pruebas diagnósticas, de carácter individual o colectivo, que permitan detectar y evaluar posibles trastornos de audición o lenguaje.

Diseñar acciones y estrategias preventivas de problemas de lenguaje y comunicación.

Diseñar e implementar acciones correctivas dirigidas a mejorar las capacidades comunicativas de los alumnos con necesidades educativas especiales.

Mantener un contacto y colaboración permanentes con los demás profesores y especialistas del centro educativo, asesorándolos en cualquier cuestión relativa a problemas de audición y lenguaje.

Colaborar con los maestros y tutores en la elaboración de las adaptaciones curriculares individuales (ACI) necesarias para aquellos alumnos que tengan necesidades educativas especiales en materia de audición y lenguaje.

Diseñar, elaborar y suministrar a los demás profesores todo aquel material de apoyo necesario para un adecuado desarrollo de este tipo de alumnos.

Informar y asesorar a las familias en lo que se refiere a la evolución del alumno en el centro educativo y, en particular, acerca de posibles estrategias correctivas a implementar en casa.
Todo esto debe atenderlo teniendo en cuenta el contexto de los distintos centros. Estamos hablando de un Centro de Educación Especial, un Centro Ordinario con Unidad de Transición/Trastornos Generalizados del Desarrollo o un Centro Ordinario con Aula Alternativa a Centro de Educación Especial en zona rural.
Recuerda que los maestros de audición y lenguaje ejercen su labor docente cuando el alumnado necesita una respuesta educativa a problemas muy específicos en cuanto al lenguaje o la comunicación. Por eso necesitan aulas acondicionadas para poder desarrollar su trabajo diario.
¿Cómo son los maestros de audición y lenguaje?
Me gustaría en este apartado destacar las características de estos profesionales. ¡Ahí van!
- Vocación pedagógica en la enseñanza.
- Comunicación asertiva, fluida y empática con la comunidad educativa (familias, alumnado y otros compañeros).
- Capacidad para trabajar en equipo con el Claustro, con el alumnado y con las familias.
- Tolerancia, ilusión y entusiasmo con su trabajo diario.
- Saben identificar y gestionar sus propias emociones para ayudar a los ACNEAE con el mismo proceso.
En este post quiero destacar el rol que desempeñan en nuestra sociedad los maestros de audición y lenguaje, maestros especialistas que se dejan la piel como el resto de maestros de otras especialidades para que su alumnado avance, venga al colegio feliz y disfrute de su aprendizaje. Hay que recordar que lo que vivimos en la escuela, lo recordaremos para toda la vida.

¡Gracias a ti Trini por tu comentario! Todas las especialidades dentro del magisterio tiene mucha importancia pero en la realidad del día día hay unas más visibles que otras. Por eso no hay que olvidarlas y tenerlas siempre presentes.
